Why are some platforms greyed out during campaign creation?
When creating a campaign, you might notice that some platforms (like YouTube, Facebook, or Instagram) are greyed out and cannot be selected. This usually happens when required ad elements or account permissions are missing.
Common Reasons Platforms Are Greyed Out
1. Missing Ad Formats or Media
Some platforms require specific ad formats:
- YouTube: Needs at least one video (uploaded or linked via YouTube URL). If no video is available, YouTube campaigns cannot be created.
- Google Search / Performance Max (Pmax): Require at least 4 headlines and 1 description to build valid ad variations. If these aren’t provided, Google channels will stay disabled.
2. Missing Facebook or Instagram Access
If you haven’t shared permission to your Facebook Page (and its connected Instagram account), the Meta platforms will be unavailable.
Ctrl+A can only publish ads on these channels when access to your Facebook Page (and linked Instagram account) is granted.
3. Other Missing Campaign Assets
In rare cases, if essential campaign components (like images or texts) are missing or invalid, certain platforms may temporarily be disabled until the requirements are met.
How to Fix the Issue
- Make sure all required texts, images, or videos are added.
- Check that you’ve connected your Facebook Page and Instagram account if you want to advertise on Meta platforms.
- Review each campaign section (Scan, Assets, Targeting) to confirm that all mandatory inputs are complete.
